HCMC launches peak campaign to ensure traffic order and safety at the end of the year

Ho Chi Minh City will implement a peak period of ensuring traffic safety, urban order and public order to serve holidays, Tet and major year-end events.

On November 4, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC08) said that the traffic police force has just launched a high-point campaign to ensure traffic safety and order, urban order and public order in the city, to serve festival, cultural, tourism activities and prepare for the Lunar New Year 2026.

According to PC08 Department, at the end of the year, the traffic volume of people and vehicles will increase due to the need to travel, shop, transport goods and organize events, posing a potential risk of congestion and traffic insecurity.

From this time, the Traffic Police force mobilizes maximum number of soldiers, vehicles, and technical equipment, synchronously deploying solutions to ensure order on key routes, gateway areas, border areas and points at risk of congestion, especially during rush hour and holidays.

Traffic police focus on inspecting and strictly handling violations such as: violating alcohol concentration, driving vehicles that do not ensure technical safety, homemade vehicles, and vehicles towing bulky objects. At the same time, resolutely prevent and handle acts of gathering, driving that disrupt public order, and illegal racing.

In addition, the authorities coordinated with the locality to handle the situation of encroachment on roads and sidewalks; ensure space for pedestrians and urban aesthetics.

In parallel with patrolling activities, the Traffic Police force has increased propaganda and mobilization of people, cadres, students to raise awareness of compliance with the law on traffic safety and order, not to trade, set up tents illegally on the sidewalk, maintain hygiene and urban landscape.

The peak period aims to ensure stable social order, creating conditions for people to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet safely.
