BOT toll station in Dong Nai province is about to resume operation

HÀ ANH CHIẾN |

Dong Nai - It is expected that from December 1, the BOT toll station on provincial road 768 will resume operation after a period of suspension.

On October 12, information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province said that it is expected that from December 1, toll collection will resume to recover capital for the BOT project of provincial road 768.

The BOT (build - operate - transfer) project of provincial road 768 includes a complex of 6 routes with a total length of more than 48km.

The project started collecting capital recovery fees from November 2010.

From January 1, 2021, the BOT Provincial Road 768 Project will temporarily stop collecting tolls so that the investor can install the ETC non-stop toll collection system.

However, after completing the installation of the ETC non-stop toll collection system, the project has not yet started collecting tolls to recover capital.

The project is invested by Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company with a total investment of more than 534 billion VND (excluding compensation costs for site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure systems).

The payback period is 30 years, expected from 2010-2039 and the toll collection period to generate profit is 5 years, expected from 2040-2044.

However, currently, the authorities of Dong Nai province are coordinating with the project investor, Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company, to carry out procedures to adjust the BOT project of Provincial Road 768 - removing the Thien Tan Water Plant road (Hoang Van Bon road) and the parallel road of this route from the project.

After completing the project adjustment, Hoang Van Bon Street will be handed over to the Department of Transport of Dong Nai province to manage and upgrade and expand this road with a minimum scale of 4 lanes, adding drainage, lighting, and sidewalk systems using the provincial budget (this road is seriously degraded).

According to preliminary calculations, after making adjustments, the capital needed to collect fees to recover capital for the remaining items is about 425 billion VND, equivalent to the expected toll collection period of more than 9 years.
