On September 24, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province issued a document requesting the Central Veterinary Medicine Joint Stock Company (Navetco Company) to urgently complete a compensation plan and support damages for dairy farmers who died or got sick due to Navet-LPVAC lumpy skin disease vaccine injection.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested Navetco Company to urgently coordinate with the working group of Lam Dong province and the People's Committees of Don Duong, Duc Trong, Lam Ha, Di Linh districts and Bao Loc city to organize a meeting to collect opinions from all people affected by the above incident to agree on the compensation level.
Previously, Navetco Company promised to start compensating people when completing procedures after September 20. However, until now, compensation for damages to people has not been implemented.
The delay in compensation by Navetco Company has made many people angry because they are facing many difficulties in reinvesting and restoring their cattle herds for a living.
According to records, to date, more than 500 dairy cows have died and more than 6,000 have been infected after being vaccinated against lumpy skin disease.
Previously, from the end of July 2024 until now, many localities in Lam Dong province have reported cases of dairy cows not eating, having bloody diarrhea and then dying after being vaccinated against lumpy skin disease. Meanwhile, cows that were not vaccinated with this vaccine are still healthy.
The cause of diarrhea in dairy cows in Lam Dong province is due to infection with Pestivirus tauri (BVDV type 2) after vaccination with Navet - LPVAC vaccine of Navetco Company.
