From September 9, 2024 until now, since the Phong Chau bridge collapse, Tu My bridge has banned all cars, only bicycles, motorbikes, and rudimentary vehicles can cross this bridge.

Mr. Nguyen Van Son - owner of Son Ha passenger bus company operating on the Cam Khe - My Dinh route (Hanoi) - shared: "Since Tu My bridge banned cars due to repairs, the bus company had to go around Song Bua bridge, Phong Chau bridge is no longer there so we have to go around Ngoc Thap bridge (connecting Tam Nong with Phu Tho town) once more, spending more on gas is one thing, but losing a lot of regular customers because of the route change".

According to a representative of the Traffic Construction and Maintenance Project Management Board (project management unit, under the Department of Transport of Phu Tho province), the project is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2024.

With the repair time still being extended, Tu My bridge will continue to limit traffic. For cars moving from Tam Nong district to Cam Khe district and vice versa, they will have to go around Song Bua bridge at Km4+323 of the inter-regional road, about 3.5km from Tu My bridge in the direction upstream of Bua river.
