In recent years, Bac Kan province has gradually invested in developing infrastructure to serve people's lives, including the sports sector.
The Bac Kan Provincial Stadium project is designed according to international standards and is identified as a key project, to help improve the local sports infrastructure.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in early April 2025, after more than 1 year of implementation, the project is entering the stage of completing the site and constructing the stands and foundations.
At the construction site, workers and many machines and vehicles are mobilized. The football field corridor area is being dug up and leveled to create a slope.
A large amount of rock and soil is transported from high to low positions, serving the foundation work. In the main yard area, construction units are deploying the stands.
Some areas with completed leveling have been converted to foundation construction, installation and reinforcement of steel reinforcement systems according to technical designs.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thai (Bac Kan City) shared that the stadium not only serves for competitions and sports practice, but also contributes to the formation of an event space, enhancing the urban appearance.
"The people and I are looking forward to the stadium project being completed soon. When put into operation, people will benefit a lot, not only having more space to play but also creating many job opportunities," said Mr. Thai.

The Bac Kan Provincial Stadium project and auxiliary items were approved by the Provincial People's Committee in April 2023, starting construction in mid-January 2024.
The project is built in Huyen Tung ward, Bac Kan city, on an area of over 20 hectares with a capacity of about 8,000 seats and will be increased to 15,000 seats in the next phase.
The field surface meets international football competition standards with an 8-lane pitch system serving athletics competitions.
Information from the People's Committee of Bac Kan City, until the end of the first quarter of 2025, the leveling work has reached about 92%, the basic sewer system is completed. As planned, the project will be completed by the end of 2025.
During the implementation process, there were some obstacles due to the impact of natural disasters, especially storm No. 3 causing prolonged heavy rain.
In addition, site clearance is still problematic at some locations. Relevant units are coordinating to gradually remove them, ensuring the progress as planned.
The stadium was invested to serve high-performance sports training and competition activities, and is also a place to organize provincial, regional and national tournaments.
The project is expected to contribute to improving the quality of infrastructure for sports activities and community activities, while creating necessary preparation for the development of urban areas according to the type II orientation in Bac Kan.
