The road project connecting Cau Giay street to Dich Vong New Urban Area (under Ring Road 2.5) with a length of about 420m has been implemented for many years but has not been completed due to site clearance problems.
It is known that by the end of 2025, the locality had approved compensation, support, and resettlement plans for 334/338 cases, with a total recovered area of nearly 19,000m2.
To speed up the project progress, the Cau Giay ward government plans to enforce households that are slow to hand over land in the first quarter of 2026. Before the above information, many households living in the land clearance area have urgently cleaned up their houses and belongings to leave.

According to Lao Dong's records, on the morning of January 13, many students renting rooms in alley 165 Cau Giay street were busy packing up their belongings to move to a new place.
Mr. Nguyen Hung - a student at a university on Xuan Thuy street - said: "I have been renting here for more than 2 years, but the landlord just announced that the area is about to be passed by the Ring Road 2.5 project, so he asked us to return the house to hand over the land. Because the announcement was urgent, I had to ask friends to help move things.
Records in alley 165 Cau Giay show that many household items and belongings were left scattered in the middle of the walkway. Many houses have been cleaned up, the doors are locked, no one lives anymore, just waiting for the day to dismantle.
Mr. Nam - a worker participating in the dismantling - said that he has been working continuously at the site handover area of the Ring Road 2.5 project section through Cau Giay for nearly a month.
With the current progress, I think site clearance in this area will be completed soon," Mr. Nam said.

Cau Giay Ward People's Committee has issued a notice requesting organizations and individuals who have received compensation, support, and signed land handover records to urgently carry out the dismantling of works, relocate assets and hand over land to contractors to serve the construction of Ring Road 2.5 project in accordance with regulations. However, in reality, there are still some households continuing to stick to old houses due to unclear temporary residence plans.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Ta Thi Ca (group 30, Cau Giay street, Cau Giay ward, Hanoi city) said that alley 165 Cau Giay street often falls into flooding every time it rains heavily, causing many inconveniences to people's lives.
When receiving information that this area would be cleared for site clearance to implement the Ring Road 2.5 project, her family completely agreed with the State's guidelines and policies.
However, according to Ms. Ca, the Cau Giay ward government plans to arrange a resettlement location on Kieu Mai street, but this location is quite far from the family's old residence. Therefore, she hopes that the government will consider and arrange a temporary residence convenient for people's living and eating, especially in the context of the Lunar New Year approaching.
At the same time, she also hopes that functional agencies will accelerate the construction of resettlement apartments on Duy Tan street so that people can soon move to new places to settle down and stabilize their lives.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hoa - a resident living in the area - said that his family has signed a commitment to hand over the land and participated in drawing lots for the resettlement apartment location. Currently, his family's resettlement apartment has been clearly identified with the house number and usable area.
However, explaining that it is not possible to move out early, Mr. Hoa said: "The resettlement building located on Duy Tan street is still incomplete, so my family cannot move in. I hope the government will soon arrange suitable temporary accommodation, ensuring sufficient material conditions for people to stabilize their lives.
