Binh Dinh - The province has agreed to recognize 9 communes meeting new rural standards (NTM), advanced NTM and model NTM in the second phase of 2024.

After consideration, up to now, the Binh Dinh Provincial Appraisal Council has agreed to recognize communes that meet the standards of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas in the second phase of 2024 for 9 localities in the province. This is also the final appraisal period in the period of 2021-2025.

Through the assessment, localities have made many efforts and completed the criteria according to regulations. Of which, An Quang commune (An Lao district) meets 19/19 criteria according to the NTM commune criteria set for the period 2021-2025. Communes including: Binh Nghi (Tay Son district), Cat Nhon (Phu Cat district), Nhon Hanh (An Nhon town), Hoai My (Hoai Nhon town) meet 19/19 criteria according to the set of criteria for advanced NTM communes for the period 2021-2025.

The communes including: Nhon Chau (Quy Nhon city), Hoai Chau (Hoai Nhon town), Nhon My (An Nhon town) meet 17-18 criteria. Criteria such as schools, clean water, environment, and living environment quality need to continue to be overcome and improved to ensure compliance with regulations.

Nhon Hai commune alone meets 4/4 criteria for a model new rural commune in Culture - Tourism, reaching a rate of 100%.

As a result, it was agreed to recognize An Quang commune as meeting the NTM standards; recognized 7 communes: Binh Nghi, Cat Nhon, Nhon Chau, Hoai Chau, Hoai My, Nhon Hanh, Nhon My as meeting the advanced NTM standards; recognized Nhon Hai commune as meeting the model NTM standards in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the NTM construction program is of great significance in improving the quality of people's lives, contributing to the completion of infrastructure, building green, clean, beautiful, safe, imbued with cultural identity and sustainable development.

Build a synchronous and gradually modernizing rural socio-economic infrastructure, ensuring a bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe environment and rural landscape, rich in traditional cultural identity, adapting to climate change and sustainable development.

Mr. Thanh suggested that localities commit and develop specific plans to overcome the shortcomings and continue to improve the quality of new rural criteria in the coming time.

In particular, Nhon My commune (An Nhon town) needs to promote propaganda work, raise people's awareness of plastic waste classification and treatment; assign tasks to departments, branches, unions and hamlets to encourage people to participate in implementation.

The People's Committee of Hoai Nhon town was assigned to direct and urge the Central Water Supply and Drainage Company to urgently complete the expansion of the pipeline network and put it into use to provide clean water for people in Hoai Chau commune, meeting the water use rate of households according to the requirements of the criteria.

The People's Committee of Quy Nhon City directs the People's Committee of Nhon Chau Commune to urgently overcome shortcomings related to school and environmental criteria to ensure the conditions for recognizing communes as meeting advanced NTM standards.

Binh Dinh province currently has 155 commune-level administrative units. After the arrangement, there will be a reduction of 58 administrative units (including 41 communes, 17 wards).
