On January 26 (27th of Tet), speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Ma Doan Khanh - Chairman of Lung Cu Commune People's Committee (Dong Van District) confirmed that snow had just appeared in the area.
According to initial information, the snow started falling at around 9am the same day and lasted for more than 30 minutes, stopping at 10am. The amount of snow was light, drizzle and not too thick.
"During the time near Lunar New Year, local temperatures fluctuated below 7 degrees Celsius. However, snowfall still occurred.
As soon as it snowed, we notified people to proactively prevent the cold and protect livestock and poultry from the effects of the cold weather," the commune leader added.
