Noting on April 28, the reporter showed that the two floor space - which was the highlight of the natural lighting center of this busy commercial center - has been covered with a traced cone mesh system. The bottom of the net is firmly fixed on the ground floor, while the top of the net connects to the small landscape decoration frame on the 6th floor.

In addition, on floors 6 and 7, Van Hanh Mall has also completed the increase in the height of the safety glass in the clearance area and the railing from 1.4 m to 1.7 m.
Mr. Quoc Khanh (28 years old) - a sales staff on the 5th floor of this shopping mall - said that these measures were quickly taken after a 22-year-old man fell to the ground and died not long ago: "I find this measure necessary to prevent many people from coming here to commit suicide, an act that is condemnable and greatly affects business operations".

Ms. My Linh (23 years old) - a fashion saleswoman on the 4th floor - said that she had heard and witnessed 3 suicide jumps at this shopping mall. Van Hanh Mall's installation of a net and raising the glass made her feel more secure. "The shopping mall has a very beautiful skylight but is now closed with a net. I hope this is only a temporary solution and those who intend to commit suicide should stop," Ms. Linh expressed.
This female employee also said that within just 2 months, there were 3 suicide incidents, causing significant damage and affecting the psychology of many people working here. The most recent incident caused a booth to temporarily stop trading due to obsession, and goods in the victim's area had to be destroyed.
Currently, Van Hanh Mall has also increased security forces, security supervision and the number of surveillance cameras on the floors to ensure safety.

On the same afternoon, Van Hanh Mall sent a notice of thanks to customers and more than 1,000 employees for sharing and accompanying the shopping mall during the recent difficult times. The shopping mall affirmed that it has made efforts to change and improve the appearance to bring a safer and more secure shopping experience.
Regarding current safety measures, Van Hanh Mall said: "This is an emergency, temporary solution and Van Hanh Mall staff will continue to implement solutions to improve the long-term aesthetics, making the center more beautiful and vibrant in the near future".
Previously, on March 17, April 9 and April 26, 3 young men fell down a stairs and died at Van Hanh Mall, suspected of committing suicide by jumping off a stairs.
