On December 9, the People's Council of Kien Giang province held its 29th session (special session) and passed 19 draft resolutions. Of which, it approved the adjustment of the investment policy for the project to build the coastal road in the West of Phu Quoc island (the Project).
The project was approved by the People's Council of Kien Giang province in Resolution No. 174 dated December 8, 2023. The starting point is Km0+000 adjacent to Duong Dong River (the proposed location for Bach Dang Bridge construction), the end point is Km4+096 intersecting with DT.975B road (Duong Dong - Cua Can - Ganh Dau), the route length is about 4.1 km; total investment is 3,200 billion VND; using provincial budget capital, implementation period is 2024-2029.
However, during the project preparation process (the step of preparing the project feasibility study report) and based on the Master Plan of Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province to 2040 approved by the Prime Minister, some contents within the scope of the project are not consistent with the approved plan. Therefore, to ensure implementation according to the approved plan, it is necessary to adjust the project.
According to the People's Council of Kien Giang province, the adjustment of the investment policy to continue implementing the approved plan is necessary and in accordance with the provisions of law. The above adjustment does not increase the total investment of the project.
Adjustment on the main route: starting point Km0+000 intersects with Tran Phu street; ending point Km3+518 intersects with DT.975B road (Duong Dong - Cua Can - Ganh Dau). Route length is about 3.52 km.
Branch line: Intersection 1 has the starting point at Km0+000 intersecting with the main line; the ending point at Km0+130 intersecting with Tran Phu and Cach Mang Thang 8 streets. Length is about 0.13 km. Intersection 2: Starting point at Km0+000 intersecting with the main line; the ending point at Km0+180 intersecting with Tran Phu street. Length is about 0.18 km. Intersection 3: Starting point at Km0+000 intersecting with the main line; the ending point at Km0+540 intersecting with N22 street and D1 street of 67.5 ha residential area. Length is about 0.54 km. Total length of routes is about 4.37 km.
The main road section is an urban service road (according to urban road design standards TCVN 13592:2022). The cross-section of the road includes 4 car lanes and 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles.
Branch line: Intersection 1 (section Cach Mang Thang 8): Main main street (according to urban road design standards TCVN 13592:2022). The cross-sectional scale of the road includes 6 car lanes. Intersection 2 (section N18 according to planning): Urban collector street (according to urban road design standards TCVN 13592:2022). The cross-sectional scale of the road includes 2 car lanes and 2 non-motorized vehicle lanes. Intersection 3 (section N22 according to planning): Urban collector street (according to urban road design standards TCVN 13592:2022). The cross-sectional scale of the road includes 4 car lanes.
Synchronously construct items including: Drainage system, lighting, sidewalks, trees, breakwaters, intersections, parking lots, technical sewers, fire prevention and fighting system, traffic safety system.
The People's Council assigned the People's Committee of Kien Giang province to implement this Resolution.
