The 12 projects canceled and not implemented include: Duong Dong 2 Kindergarten, Phu Quoc administrative center; Duong To Primary School 1 Suoi Lon location; Bai Thom Primary and Secondary School; Ham Ninh Secondary School; Ho Thi Nghiem Kindergarten; An Thoi Kindergarten phase 2; An Thoi 2 Primary and Secondary School; Western coastal road; Phu Quoc General Hospital; An Thoi new market and new border post construction project.
According to the leaders of Phu Quoc City People's Committee, the reduction of 12 projects has many reasons, including some construction projects that have not been allocated land funds to implement the project.
Phu Quoc administrative center project due to force majeure causes changes in objectives, investment scale, costs and program implementation time. The project is approved for the period from 2021 to 2024, but up to now, no project investment has been prepared, leading to the inability to complete the project according to the approved investment policy.
Western Coastal Road Project. This project list coincides with the project that the People's Council of Kien Giang province issued Resolution No. 174/NQ HDND dated December 8, 2023 deciding on the investment policy of the Phu Island West Coastal Road Construction Investment Project. Quoc. Therefore, up to now the project is suspended and not implemented.
In addition, the Phu Quoc General Hospital construction project still has legal problems such as the authority to decide on investment policies. From 2024, the City Medical Center will be fully managed by the Department of Health, not managed by the city in terms of investment and regular expenses, so the Phu Quoc General Hospital project must be managed by the Department of Health. economy as an investor. The project is currently entangled in forest land conversion procedures, so it is difficult to implement in the period 2021 - 2025.
