Only one day left until the main event of Viettel Marathon 2024 in Luang Prabang, Laos. From early morning, thousands of runners from all over flocked to Luang Prabang night market to receive racekits, bibs, and participate in exciting sideline activities.

Although the Organizing Committee announced that the race would start at 10am, since early this morning, November 2, 2024, athletes have gathered in large numbers at the Expo area to check-in and receive race kits, preparing for the official race on November 3, 2024. The Organizing Committee said that about 5,000 athletes and local people were present, creating an exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Many athletes expressed their excitement ahead of the tournament through early check-in photos. Ms. Phanutda Khamsomboun - a Laotian student studying in Vietnam said that as soon as she heard the news that Viettel Marathon was held in Luang Prabang, she spread the information to the community of international students who had studied and lived in Vietnam. "I studied abroad for 4 years in Nha Trang, Vietnam. When I heard the news about the race organized by Vietnam in Laos, I was very happy and really touched by the affection you guys had for us."

To ensure convenience, the process of receiving BIB and racekit is simplified. Along with the support from Unitel's LaoApp application, check-in becomes extremely convenient, helping runners save time and easily access information. Athletes just need to scan the QR code on LaoApp to complete the procedure quickly.

Vilaxay Phomsouvanh, a professional runner from Laos, shared: “Although there were many athletes waiting, it only took me about 15 minutes to receive the racekit. The organizers arranged it properly, the support counters were enthusiastic, making me feel very satisfied.”

This year’s Viettel Marathon racekit includes a canvas bag, a boldly designed racing shirt and a personal BIB. Akihito, an elite athlete from Thailand, especially likes the shirt’s color and material: “The shirt design is very dynamic, the red color stands out, the material is cool and suitable for the Luang Prabang weather.”

Viewers can easily follow the live link on LaoTV and the tournament's fanpage, bringing the most authentic racing experience to the audience.

Before that, the Organizing Committee also held a workshop for athletes and local people with useful information about health and spirit before the competition day.
