Fire kills 11 people: Many bodies have not been identified

Hanoi - As of 9:00 a.m. on December 19, 3/11 bodies of victims in the cafe fire on Pham Van Dong Street, Bac Tu Liem District have been confirmed.

On the morning of December 19, after inspection, some of the victims’ bodies were handed over by authorities to their relatives for burial. However, many bodies have yet to be identified.

At the funeral home of Hospital 198, relatives of a victim of the fire were present to identify their grandchild. However, because many bodies were burned and disfigured, it is still unknown where their loved one is.

Unable to believe that their loved one had passed away like that, the victim's family kept calling out their children's names and searching for them.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ung - Standing Committee Member, Head of the District Party Committee's Organization Board, 3/11 victims of the cafe fire have been confirmed and will support 103 million VND/victim.

The remaining 8 victims will have their bodies autopsied so that their families can take them home for burial.
