On April 22, regarding the accident of a passenger bus picking up and dropping off about 20 students in Gia Lai province, Mr. Tran Thai Hoa - Head of Road Management Office 3.4 (under Road Management Area 3) said that at the location where the passenger bus was in trouble on National Highway 19, the construction unit had not yet installed guardrails.

According to Mr. Hoa, the image of the accident scene shows the passenger bus rushing to the other side of the road and falling onto a road leading to a house. This location is about 5m lower than the road surface.

Normally, at locations with a large difference compared to the road surface, the construction unit needs to install guardrails and warning signs.

However, currently, the construction unit has only made box ditches and curbs. Therefore, when the passenger bus had an accident, it crashed straight into the road and fell into the abyss without any guard to stop it.

The National Highway 19 project through Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province is being directed by Project Management Board 2 to contractors to construct items. The project has not been completed and has not been handed over to the Road Management Office 3.4", Mr. Hoa added.

Regarding the accident, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province has directed the Department of Health and hospitals to make efforts to treat and treat the injured students.

The Traffic Police Department - Provincial Police protects the scene and investigates the cause of the accident to handle it according to the law.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 6:00 a.m. on April 22, a 30-seat school bus carrying license plate 81F-001.88 driven by Phan Dinh Du (born in 1968, residing in Binh Giao Commune, Chu Prong District) was traveling from Duc Co District to Pleiku City. The vehicle was currently carrying about 20 secondary and high school students in Chu Prong district.

When arriving at km 200+700 on Highway 19, the passenger car suddenly lost control, climbed on the side of the road and rushed to the campus of a household, where the depth of about 5m above the road surface. The accident injured 3 people in the head area, 2 people were injured in their hands and some other students were rubbed due to hitting broken glass pieces.
