In March 2025, Project Management Board 7 (Ministry of Construction) reported on the expressway section Van Phong - Nha Trang with a total length of more than 83km, starting at the southern gate of Co Ma tunnel, ending at the starting point of the expressway section Nha Trang - Cam Lam; passing through 4 districts and towns including: Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa, Khanh Vinh and Dien Khanh.
Currently, the investor has completed 70/83km and is completing procedures to put it into operation on April 30, 2025.
The total construction output of the project reached 91% of the contract value, about 11:00 ahead of schedule.
For the remaining section (13km), the progress is currently slower than the completion plan on April 30, 2025. The reason for the delay is due to unfavorable weather conditions. From this reality, construction units are making efforts to complete the main route on April 30 and complete the entire route in June 2025.
The Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway will have 1 rest stop at Km334+900.
For this, the Vietnam Expressway Administration (now the Vietnam Road Administration) has approved the investor selection results.
Regarding the ITS system (smart communication), ETC and mobile vehicle weight weighting system, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) has approved the basic design of the ITS, ETC systems and vehicle weight control stations of the Project.
Currently, the investor is implementing the selection of design consultants and consultants for reviewing the design steps to be implemented after the basic design. It is expected that the design work will be completed in May 2025 to select a contractor, implement the construction, and be completed in December 2025.
