On May 24, Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai) directed functional agencies to verify and clarify the case of a 4th grade student being assaulted by an English tutor.
According to initial information, on the afternoon of May 23, Ms. Truong Doan Na (born 1996, residing in Quy Nhon ward) brought her son, T.G.V (born 2016, a 4th grade student at Tran Hung Dao Elementary School) to take extra English classes at the house of an Indian teacher on Ly Tu Trong street.

At about 3:10 pm on the same day, while entering the classroom, V. brought a small toy and accidentally collided with the teacher. After that, this person threw the toy out and slapped V. hard in the face, causing her to fall to the floor, panicked and burst into tears.
After the incident, the teacher's wife applied ice to baby V.'s cheek area, and contacted Ms. Na to inform and apologize.
When picking up her child, Ms. Na discovered that V.'s cheeks and ears were swollen and red, with many bruises. After returning home, the child showed signs of tinnitus, vomiting, and fear, so she was taken by her family to Gia Lai Provincial General Hospital for hospitalization on the evening of May 23.

According to Ms. Na, after examination, the doctor diagnosed baby V. with soft tissue injury in the cheek and ear area due to strong impact.
In the afternoon of the same day, the family reported the incident to Quy Nhon Ward Police, requesting investigation and handling according to regulations.
The incident also quickly spread on social network Facebook. Many articles with images accusing a foreign English tutor of assaulting students have attracted attention and caused public stir.
