On the morning of June 10, a heavy rain suddenly fell on many districts in Ho Chi Minh City. At An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City), there was a serious traffic jam.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at more than 10am, the number of vehicles began to pour into the An Phu intersection area and increased dramatically. Heavy rain caused many roads around the area to be slightly flooded, making traffic jams even more serious.
At the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, towards the An Phu intersection, cars, trucks, and container trucks lined up for kilometers, many people had to wait and move slowly.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, a truck driver waiting on the highway, said that heavy rain caused prolonged traffic jams that prevented him from continuing to move.
"I waited for more than 30 minutes before getting out of this road. Heavy rain, slippery roads, made the situation even more tense, said Mr. Huy.
Ms. Pham Thi Lan, a resident living near the An Phu intersection, shared that traffic jams here are not new, but today there was a sudden heavy rain during rush hour, so traffic jams were tense.
"This intersection has always had a high traffic density, the intersection project is also under construction, so travel is difficult, and every time it rains a little, traffic jams are more stressful," said Ms. Lan.
In addition, the parallel road of Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway is also in a state of congestion.

Previously, from June 7, Ho Chi Minh City decided to ban motorbikes from circulating on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to ensure order and traffic safety on the expressway access route.
However, in the early days, people were not used to it, so a large number of vehicles poured onto a route, increasing traffic density at intersections such as An Phu.
