The particularly serious accident on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway on the morning of December 9 took the lives of 4 people and injured 9 others. All the victims were relatives, on their way from Lam Dong to Ninh Binh after the wedding. The bus had both the bride and groom - those who had just experienced the happiest day of their life.



At Quang Nam General Hospital, the heavily airy engulfed the emergency room. Many victims still have signs of panic. Bride Vu Thi D. (23 years old, Ninh Binh) tried to suppress the pain and recalled: "When the accident happened, almost everyone was sleeping. We didn't have time to react, just heard a very strong collision and it was all chaotic."
According to information from the hospital, out of 8 victims admitted to the emergency room, 4 people suffered traumatic brain injuries, many cases with multiple injuries. By noon of the same day, Ms. Tran Thi V. (51 years old) - one of the relatives accompanying the group - had not survive due to severe injuries, bringing the death toll to 4 people (3 people died on the spot).

Another victim who was being treated shared in choking: "Last weekend, after holding a bride's wedding in Ninh Binh, the entire family of 13 took a car to Lam Dong to hold a wedding in the groom's hometown. Yesterday afternoon, after the wedding, the whole family returned to their hometown, including the groom and bride. I didn't expect a fun trip to turn into a disaster like this."


As Lao Dong reported, the accident occurred at around 4:10 a.m. at Km71+200 of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway. The 16-seat passenger car with license plate 29B-081.62 was driven by Pham Van Kieu (39 years old), also the cousin of the groom, when it suddenly hit the rear of a tractor-trailer with license plate 15C-360.35 traveling in the same direction in front. The collision completely deformed the front of the passenger bus.

Immediately after the accident, the traffic police and local authorities were present to rescue and take the victims to the emergency room. In addition to the 4 deaths, 9 injured people are continuing to be treated.
The initial cause was determined by the authorities to be that the bus driver was not observing, did not keep a safe distance, along with many passengers not wearing seat belts.
