A car carrying 10 people overturned while crossing a fast-flowing stream in Phu Yen

Phu Yen - While carrying 10 people across a fast-flowing stream, a tractor overturned, leaving one person missing after being swept away by the water. The rest were lucky to escape.

On the afternoon of December 11, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Kien commune (Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province) confirmed that a front-end truck (also known as a tractor) had just overturned in the area, leaving one person missing.

"Authorities and local people are still actively searching for the missing victim in the incident where a farm vehicle was swept away by floodwaters while crossing a stream. The victim has not yet been found," he said.

The leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Kien commune said that while transporting workers from the acacia garden, a tractor carrying 10 people suddenly overturned while crossing a stream, causing one person in the vehicle to be swept away by the water and go missing. The remaining people were lucky to escape.

The incident occurred at around 1:15 p.m. the same day, the victim was identified as Mr. Nguyen Van Qui (36 years old, residing in Hoa Quang Bac commune, Phu Hoa district).

On December 11, Phu Yen province experienced very heavy rain, causing many trees to fall across the road and localized flooding in some areas. According to the forecast of Phu Yen Hydrometeorological Station, from the night of December 10 to 14, the province will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The total rainfall for the entire period is generally from 100 - 200mm, with some places reaching over 300mm.
