In order to carry out the peak of the crime suppression campaign to ensure the Lunar New Year 2025, Hanoi City Police have directed professional units to step up prevention and combat against crimes violating the law on firecracker management and use.
According to the commander of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, during the 45 days of the peak period, units under the City Police investigated and discovered 130 cases and 154 subjects with violations in the management and use of fireworks.
Of which, there were 12 cases of illegal firecracker production with 19 subjects; 23 cases of illegal trading with 30 subjects; 12 cases of illegal transportation with 13 subjects; 33 cases of illegal storage with 39 subjects; 50 cases of illegal use with 53 subjects.
To effectively prevent the use of illegal fireworks and prevent fireworks accidents from occurring before, during and after New Year's Eve, the Director of Hanoi City Police Department requested that police units increase the maximum force for police in communes, wards and towns in the city, especially in areas with high risk of people using illegal fireworks, to organize checkpoints, patrols and control, and strictly handle all cases of illegal fireworks violations on New Year's Eve.
Hanoi City Police recommend that people only use fireworks products manufactured by the Ministry of National Defense, and follow the manufacturer's instructions during use to prevent the risk of fire and explosion and accidents related to fireworks.
Any illegal fireworks violations detected by Hanoi City Police will be strictly handled in accordance with the law.
