60 individuals fined for violating food safety in Quang Ninh

Quang Ninh - The Department of Health has just fined 60 organizations and individuals for violating food safety with a total amount of 206.95 million VND in the first 9 months of 2024.

Quang Ninh Department of Health has just issued document No. 4497/SYT-NVY to publicly announce on mass media about the sanctioning of organizations and individuals for administrative violations related to food safety in September.

The province has fined 60 organizations and individuals with a total amount of up to 206.95 million VND.

According to information from the Department of Health, the violations were mainly related to the business of smuggled food, food of unknown origin and violations of food safety regulations. In particular, 9 organizations and individuals were punished for high-level violations that directly affected the health of consumers.

Specifically, Ms. Pham Thi Yen (Trung Vuong Ward, Uong Bi City) was fined 11 million VND. Many other businesses such as Xiaohaha store (Hong Hai Ward, Ha Long City) and Huong Anh Food & Nest were also fined 10 million VND.

According to the list, most of the violations were related to trading in smuggled goods of unknown origin and not ensuring food safety, such as not complying with the 3-step food inspection regime and lacking waste collection tools.

The Market Management Department has fined 46 organizations and individuals a total of VND141.35 million; the Provincial Police have fined 8 organizations and individuals a total of VND55 million; and the People's Committees of localities have also fined 6 organizations and individuals a total of VND10.6 million.
