Dak Lak - The authorities have just issued a decision to administratively sanction the owner of a vehicle transporting dozens of pigs infected with African swine fever.

On August 6, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Dak Lak province announced that the unit had issued a decision to administratively fine Mr. N.H.L (residing in Ha Tinh province) 7 million VND. The reason is that Mr. Loc transported 97 pigs without an animal quarantine certificate.

Previously, on the morning of July 29, Road Traffic Police Team No. 2, Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Province Police discovered a truck carrying pigs traveling on National Highway 26 (through Ea Trang Commune) with suspicious signs, so they asked to stop the vehicle for inspection.

Through inspection, the authorities discovered 97 pigs in the truck's body. Of these, 95 showed signs of convulsions and frostbite, some had bleeding on the skin and 2 died.

Test results showed that 66 of these pigs were positive for African swine fever virus. All 97 pigs were destroyed by the authorities.
