According to information from Hanoi City Police, at 4:30 p.m. on September 19, the Command Information Center received a report of a fire at a printing factory on Quang Tien Street, Nam Tu Liem.
Immediately upon receiving the news, the Command Information Center dispatched the Fire Prevention and Fighting Team, Nam Tu Liem District Police and the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 2 (Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi City Police) to the scene.
Initially, the printing workshop was about 400 square meters wide, with a steel frame and corrugated iron roof. The fire was discovered by local residents, who then used mobile fire extinguishers and equipment from public fire stations to put out the fire. However, because the workshop contained many flammable materials, it was very difficult to put out the fire.
At 4:44 p.m. the same day, due to the risk of the fire spreading, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, Bac Tu Liem District Police were mobilized to the scene to provide support. At the same time, leaders of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi City Police and the Working Group, trucks carrying fire fighting equipment arrived at the scene to direct and participate in fire fighting.
By 5:00 p.m., the forces had controlled the fire, prevented it from spreading, and entered the factory.
By 5:28 p.m., the units had completely extinguished the fire. Initial information indicated that there were no human casualties, and property damage was being assessed.
After extinguishing the fire, authorities continued to spray water to cool it down to prevent it from re-igniting. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
