The 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Line project passes through Luc Yen and Yen Binh districts (Yen Bai province) with a total length of 90 km, 173 pole foundations.
According to the leader of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee, the project has complex construction terrain, the Northwest region is about to enter the rainy season, so the local authorities have cooperated with the investor to accelerate the inventory and payment of funding for organizations, households and individuals whose land is recovered.
Up to now, the section passing through Luc Yen district has 82 pole foundation locations and Yen Binh district has 91 pole foundation locations that have completed site clearance and handed over the site to the investor to implement the project.
On April 30, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at the construction site of the project through Yen Bai province, dozens of workers are working enthusiastically.
Not only working day, the contractor also works overtime to take advantage of favorable weather, completing the foundation excavation of locations early in May, preparing for the erection of poles and pulling of ropes from June 2025.
At other foundation locations in Yen Bai province, the unit has simultaneously deployed the foundation location. To keep up with the overall progress of the project, the contractor has added human resources, increased shifts, and increased working hours.
Mr. Do Quang Khai - Deputy Director of Power Project Management Board 1 and Director of the 500 kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Power Line Project Management Board said: This is an important project in the national power transmission system, playing a key role in enhancing the power transmission capacity of hydropower plants in the Northwest region.
Therefore, the progress is being calculated daily for contractors. The foundation excavation will end on May 30. From June 1 to July 30, the contractor will complete the column installation and deploy the pulling of the rope from July to August 30. Units strive and are determined to energize on August 31, 2025.
Mr. Do Quang Khai also said that on April 30, leaders of Power Project Management Board 1 and Song Da 11 Joint Stock Company (the construction unit of package 4) visited and encouraged workers at the construction site.
According to the workers, because it is located on rice fields, near streams, the soil is weak, so some locations are designed in the shape of a village foundation. The construction of the steel reinforcement was carried out overnight to ensure progress.
Normally, contractors arrange a team and a team for 2-3 foundation positions. However, due to the required progress, the unit arranged each team to take on 1 difficult position and 2 easy positions.
Although working through the holidays, the workers are very excited to receive encouragement and attention from the units leaders, said a worker named Nam who is working at the construction site.
On the side of the unit supplying steel poles for the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen transmission line project, through research - Dong Anh Steel Pipe Manufacturing Company Limited is supplying poles for 4/10 packages of the project with 65 steel poles and 99 steel pipes, with a total volume of more than 20,000 tons.
"Realizing that this is a national key project and is very urgent, with progress every day, nearly 600 officers and workers of the factory are participating in the production of 3 shifts, 4 teams, working through the April 30 - 1.5 holiday to meet the project's progress", Mr. Nguyen Minh De, General Director of Dong Anh Steel Pipe Manufacturing Company Limited informed.
