The BYD Dolphin pure electric car model revealed by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will have changes in design, size and engine options.
BYD Dolphin has new headlights with a more curved and slim design. The black border is designed to extend to the A-pillar of the car. The radiator grille has also been adjusted; the front bumper has new air vents and vents; the rear bumper has fake air vents on both sides, along with adjustable taillights.
According to MIIT, the new Dolphin model has dimensions of 4,280 mm x 1,770 mm x 1,570 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Compared to the current version, the new upgrade increases the length to 4,125 mm, while the remaining parameters remain the same.
This upgrade adds an electric motor option with a capacity of 174 horsepower. Meanwhile, the two current motor versions are 94 horsepower and 201 horsepower. All versions use BYD's Blade LFP battery. The car can reach a maximum speed of 150 km/h and 160 km/h depending on the version. The car's weight also has 3 levels: 1,435 kg, 1,480 kg and 1,600 kg.

In Vietnam, the BYD Dolphin model is only sold in the GLX version, with a suggested price of 659 million VND. The car is imported from China with a 94 horsepower motor for a range of 405 km/charge.
Among the 3 BYD models appearing in Vietnam, the Dolphin is the smallest product with the most accessible price. In the Vietnamese market, in the B-class hatchback segment, there is the MG4 model, also a pure electric model, priced at around 828-948 million VND.
