After the first batch of 10 cars were transported to Tan Son Nhat airport, the next supercars participating in the Gumball 3000 journey have also arrived in Vietnam. Among them is the Chevrolet K10 - a rare pickup truck model next to the billion-dollar supercars at the Gumball 3000 journey that has attracted attention.
Chevrolet K10 is a 2-door pickup truck. The Chevrolet K10 brought to Vietnam to attend Gumball 3000 has a very striking turquoise color, the entire rear pickup bed is lined with imitation wood panels.
Introduced in 1959 as a 1960 model, the first generation K10 featured a number of design changes from the previous announcement for a General Motors light truck. Replacing the Task Force, the vehicle was developed from the start as a truck chassis, no longer sharing the GM A-body platform.
Although developed as a light truck with durability in mind, the K10 adopted several features from cars into its design to enhance functionality. For the pickup, Chevrolet used a low-slung frame that allowed for a low cab, and an independent front suspension paired with a coil-sprung rear axle. For the 1963 model year, the front torsion bar was replaced with front coil springs (on two-wheel drive vehicles).
The Chevrolet K10 had a total of 4 generations, produced until 2002 when it was discontinued. Now, the first generations of this car line are being hunted down, to become interesting modifications for car collectors.
