Fines for running red lights for cars:

According to Point a, Clause 5, Article 5 of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 123/2021/ND-CP), a driver who runs a red light will be administratively fined from VND 4,000,000 to VND 6,000,000. In addition to the fine, the driver who commits the violation will also be subject to an additional penalty of having his/her driving license revoked for 01 - 03 months (Point b, Clause 11, Article 5). In case of failure to comply with traffic light signals and causing an accident, the driving license will be revoked for 02 - 04 months.

Fines for speeding cars:

Fine from 800,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND for drivers exceeding the prescribed speed from 05 km/h to under 10 km/h (Point a, Clause 3, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

A fine of VND 4,000,000 to VND 6,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers exceeding the prescribed speed limit by 10 km/h to 20 km/h (Point i, Clause 5, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, amended at Point d, Clause 34, Article 2, Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).

In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 01 to 03 months (Point b Clause 11 Article 5 Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

Fine from 6,000,000 VND to 8,000,000 VND for drivers exceeding the prescribed speed by more than 20 km/h to 35 km/h (Point a, Clause 6, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 02 to 04 months (Point c, Clause 11, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

Fine from 10,000,000 VND to 12,000,000 VND for drivers driving at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit by more than 35 km/h (Point c, Clause 7, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

In addition, the driver who commits the violation will also have his/her driving license revoked for 02 to 04 months (Point c, Clause 11, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP).

People should note that when coming to pay the fine, for cars, people need to prepare the following documents: Vehicle registration, certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection, driver's license of the violator, citizen identification card of the violator (photocopy 1 copy of each type of document).
