Article 7 of the draft Decree on administrative sanctions for violations of traffic order and safety in the field of road traffic; deduction of points, restoration of driving license points (3rd time) stipulates sanctions and deduction of driving license points for drivers of motorbikes, mopeds (motorbikes), vehicles similar to motorbikes and vehicles similar to motorbikes who violate road traffic rules.
Accordingly, Clause 8, Article 7 of the draft stipulates a fine of 6 million to 8 million VND (the highest administrative penalty) for drivers who commit one of the following violations:
Driving erratically or zigzagging on urban or suburban roads.
Driving in a group of 2 or more vehicles at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit.
Causing a traffic accident without stopping, not preserving the scene, not remaining at the scene or not immediately reporting to the nearest police station or People's Committee, not participating in first aid for the victim.
Driving a vehicle on the road with a blood or breath alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams/100 milliliters of blood or exceeding 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breath.
Failure to comply with the request for alcohol testing by an officer on duty.
Driving on the road while having drugs or other stimulants in the body that are prohibited by law.
Failure to comply with the request of a person on official duty to test for drugs or other stimulants prohibited by law.
In addition, two violations of driving in a zigzag or swerving manner on urban or suburban roads and driving in a group of two or more vehicles at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit causing a traffic accident or failing to comply with the order to stop by an officer on duty can also be fined from 10 million to 14 million VND.
