Instead of developing its own car model, Proton (in Malaysia) chose to buy the copyright of a Chinese brand. Therefore, the new Proton eMas 7 model is almost identical to the Geely Galaxy E5 (China), except for the logo.
The lowest price belongs to the standard Prime version (24,700 USD - about 628 million VND), while the high-end Premium version costs 27,800 USD (about 706 million VND). According to information from the company, for the first 3,000 customers, Proton will discount 900 USD for each version.
Both versions are equipped with a front electric motor with a capacity of 214 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, helping the car accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, with a maximum speed of 175 km/h. At this speed, the Proton eMas 7 has become the fastest accelerating Proton.
The Prime version uses Geely's LFP Aegis battery, with a capacity of 49.52 kWh for a WLTP-standard operating range of up to 345 km. In the Premium version, the company uses a 60.22 kWh battery, providing an operating range of up to 410 km.
Proton said internal tests showed that after 921 complete charge and discharge cycles (equivalent to 400,000 km of travel), the battery's condition remained at 90.5%, far exceeding international standards.
Both versions support AC charging at a maximum speed of 11 kW. The Prime version takes up to 4.9 hours to fully charge, while the Premium version takes 6.1 hours. Both versions can charge from 30-80% in just 20 minutes. The company also said the car can run an additional 135 km after only 10 minutes of charging.
The eMas 7 features a live charging map integrated into the infotainment system, displaying over 1,700 charging ports from leading suppliers in Malaysia (85% of the total number of charging ports in the country). The car is also equipped with a Level 2 driver assistance system - this is also the first time Proton has equipped all variants with the highest level of safety.
