It is known that the famous electric car company Tesla has become the name most affected in the large-scale vehicle recall, related to automakers that are manufacturing or importing cars to China.
Accordingly, due to safety risks, China has issued a recall of 77,650 domestically produced Tesla electric vehicles, along with more than 88,000 vehicles from four other automakers, including: GAC Trumpchi, Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler.
The State Market Management Agency of China (SAMR) has announced information about Tesla's latest vehicle recall. Accordingly, the model model Model 3 and Model Y of this car company are affected by software errors, causing the tire pressure monitoring system to not be able to promptly display any errors.
On the other hand, SAMR also announced the recall of 63 imported vehicles of the American electric car maker's Model S and Model X lines due to the risk of airbag errors. This is the next recall after 1.68 million Tesla vehicles were withdrawn from the market in August 2024, when authorities in Beijing asked the company to fix problems related to the front trunk lid on certain models.
In addition, not only Tesla, but some other automakers are also facing large-scale recalls. In particular, China's GAC Trumpchi, headquartered in Guangzhou, has announced that it will have to repair 74,422 vehicles due to software errors that could disrupt the display of important information in extreme situations.
In Europe, German car company Mercedes-Benz was also required to recall 4,748 imported cars due to potential errors in engine inspection functions or due to parts not being securely fixed by loose bolts. German truck maker MAN SE also had to repair 418 trucks because the sockets did not meet the high temperature resistance requirements.
In the US, Chrysler announced a recall of 2,040 imported Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles due to signal errors. Stellantis - Chrysler's parent company, also had to repair an additional 2,459 imported Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 xe vehicles due to battery-related problems.
The importance of monitoring the quality and safety of vehicles can be seen, especially in the context of car manufacturers increasingly integrating advanced technology into their products from the above recalls. Authorities in countries continue to play a key role in ensuring safety standards for consumers.
