When receiving a notice of violation, people should go to the place where the violation was detected or the traffic police department where they reside to resolve the fine.
For violations reported before March 1, including requests to the district-level police to resolve, people should contact the traffic police department where they reside or where the violation is detected to resolve.
Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Public Security when not organizing the district-level Police, the Traffic Police Department has directed the traffic police force to arrange enough forces to carry out the task of patrolling, controlling, and handling closed violations 24/24 hours on the assigned routes and areas.
Timely detect and strictly handle 6 groups of violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents, focusing on handling violations of alcohol concentration, overload, exceeding the limit, running red lights, speeding, driving in the wrong lane or road, swerving, swerving, disturbing public order.
The police also noted that from January 1, 2025, the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP stipulate administrative sanctions for violations of road traffic safety and order; deduction of points, restoration of driving license points in effect.
Accordingly, some violations of road traffic safety order have increased fines compared to before, such as drivers of cars running red lights being fined 18-20 million VND (old level is 4-6 million VND), for motorbike and motorbike drivers running red lights being fined 4-6 million VND (old fine is 800,000 VND to 1 million VND).
In order to effectively implement the newly issued laws, the traffic police forces of localities are actively implementing many synchronous measures, with the motto of focusing on both propaganda and strict handling.
The police recommend that people continue to raise awareness of voluntarily complying with traffic laws, for their own safety and that of others.
