Recently, on the highway and National Highway 1 through Lam Dong province, there have been consecutive car fires, causing great property damage and potential risks to traffic safety.
Typically, on the evening of July 9, a sleeper bus caught fire at km1672, National Highway 1, passing through Hong Son commune. Fortunately, 27 passengers managed to escape safely, but the fire spread quickly, causing the car to completely burn.

Then, on the afternoon of July 12, another passenger car traveling on National Highway 1, passing through Bac Binh commune, suddenly emitted a fierce smoke. Fortunately, the driver and local people controlled the fire in time to prevent it from spreading.
Similarly, on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, there were also many car fires such as the tractor-trailer fire at km170 on May 12, or the passenger bus fire in the early morning of May 10 at km188...

According to the Criminal Techniques Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police, through the examination of the fire vehicle, the authorities determined that the cause of the incident came from both objective and subjective factors.
In particular, the common cause is that the electrical system has problems when the vehicle owner arbitrarily installs or connects additional equipment without ensuring technical requirements such as LED lights, sound loudspeakers, etc.

Incorrect connection or use of poor quality components causes the power system to overload, catch fire, and leak electricity.
The authorities recommend that vehicle owners should only use electrical equipment of clear origin, ensuring technical standards, installed at reputable maintenance and repair centers. Do not arbitrarily install electrical consuming devices exceeding the designed capacity of the vehicle.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department notes that vehicles should not leave flammable objects in the interior and engine compartments.

Drivers should equip mini fire extinguishers and handle them promptly when there are incidents.

When detecting smoke, acrid odor or burning, be calm and bring the vehicle to the side of the road safely, instruct passengers to get out, use fire extinguishers, sand or water to put out the fire, and call 114 for support from the authorities.
