Journalism is a story telling profession and whether we like it or not, the words will always contain the author's own emotions. Therefore, I believe that journalism is one of the professions that affects society and requires strict ethical standards. A journalist must have a hot heart, a cool head and do everything with kindness. "Because it can affect the life of one or more people, even an entire society" - I still remember clearly what my teacher told me.
When it came time to work, those words penetrated into me. Making a newsletter or article is not difficult, but to make it fair and honest, you always need alertness.
Most recently, when receiving a letter about a case, the leader told me: "You don't make this letter because your feelings of love and hate may make the article inauthentic, even misleading." Clearly, he knew the people in this case well and knew every detail thoroughly. But, instead of choosing whose side to side with, he chose to stand outside to look in, letting me - a person from the outside - step into that story.
Doing journalism easily makes people praised. People who have aura will be complacent and then become arrogant and arrogant, thinking that every story and article they do is correct and standard. But no one can predict everything in life. Therefore, journalism requires alertness and kindness. Only when a writer looks at things with the utmost kindness can he be comprehensive, put himself in many positions, and have a view from many angles. An incident happened, the mistake was blamed on that business for deforestation , mountain destruction... but is the government left out when the licensing documents are clear in black and white?
In Da Nang, there was a time when people were late in paying taxes, owed money to buy land and were charged billions in interest. According to the law, it is correct, but in terms of situation, no government would put people in a difficult position, especially those people who accept clearance and relocation to new places for urban development. These are stories and issues that any reporter must face every day. If they are not alert, the article can defend one person but oppress the other.
Journalism also teaches me to live kindly. When I have children, I think to myself, what will I teach and what will I leave for them? It can be material, intellectual, but everything: "A person who lives a kind life will raise kind children. My children will see me and grow up" - the answer of a colleague made me realize that journalism has taught me to live kindly in every news report. Every person who comes to this life, whether studying, working or in any position, hopes to create value for themselves. I hope myself and my children will create kind values.
Doing journalism is difficult, doing good journalism is even more difficult. But no decent person lives easily. So, having chosen this path, I choose the difficulties ahead, to nurture kindness for myself and the children of the future!
