On May 29, 2025, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Letter 3235 conveying the direction of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh requesting the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to check and handle the information reported by Lao Dong Newspaper on the Online Training Program at Hanoi College of Economics and Technology.
The document stated: On May 23, 2025, Lao Dong Electronic Newspaper published an article "Hundreds of students of Hanoi College of Economics and Technology were suspended from school indefinitely", reflecting on the abnormalities in the Online Training Program at Hanoi College of Economics and Technology, causing hundreds of students registering to study to suddenly have their studies suspended indefinitely.
Regarding this, the Chairman of the City People's Committee has the following direction: Assigning the Department of Education and Training to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with agencies under the Ministry of Education and Training and the relevant units to urgently inspect and clarify the information of electronic labor newspaper reflected; propose handling of violations (if any) according to its competence; Report to the City People's Committee results before June 3, 2025.



Also related to this issue, on May 29, Mr. Truong Anh Dung - Director of the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said that immediately after Lao Dong Newspaper reported the shortcomings and violations of Hanoi College of Economics and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Official Letter 59/GDNNGDTX-GDCQ requesting verification and clarification.
In the document, the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education (Ministry of Education and Training) requested Hanoi College of Economics and Technology: Report on the implementation of the school's training organization, including the organization of distance training, conditions to ensure the organization of distance training, self-study with the school's instructions from 2020 to present.
The report clarifies the school's tuition fees in organizing training according to Lao Dong Newspaper. Clarify the content of Lao Dong Newspaper reflecting on the quality of students' degrees and learning process.
At the same time, it clearly states the problems, violations (if any), and responsibilities of relevant units, organizations, and individuals. At the same time, propose solutions to handle and resolve existing problems and violations.
Talking to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper about the above incident, Dr. Cu Van Trung - Director of the Institute for Policy Research and Social Issues - said that this is a " tragic" story, which shocked the public.

Even during the interview with reporters, Ms. Vuong affirmed that Hanoi College of Economics and Technology has signs of buying and selling degrees (?! )
