On November 29, the Cam Lo District Expressway Clearance Council (Quang Tri Province) said that some residents of Cam Tuyen Commune (Cam Lo District) near the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway construction site have reported cracks in their houses to the unit. Therefore, the unit will coordinate to inspect and then send a document to the investor of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway project to have a solution.
Reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper were present in Cam Tuyen Commune and noted that some houses located next to the highway had signs of cracks in the walls. For example, in the case of Mr. Hoang Kim Minh's family in An My Village (Cam Tuyen Commune, Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province), before the construction of the highway, the house's walls had no cracks and a group had come to take pictures and inspect the house.
When the highway construction next to his house was underway, especially when the road rollers were compacting the roadbed, causing strong vibrations, Mr. Minh felt the walls vibrate as well. After that, cracks appeared on the walls that were half a meter long, and in some places the walls were cracked open, causing Mr. Minh's family to be very worried.
A short distance from Mr. Minh’s house, the family church of Mr. Le Ngoc Hoan (An My village) was solidly built, but cracks appeared along the walls, and the floor had sunk in some places. Mr. Hoan said that the family’s place of worship was damaged like this, making his descendants worried. His family’s wish is to clarify the damage to the church due to highway construction, so that measures can be taken to fix it soon.
Preliminary statistics show that in An My village alone, there are about 15 houses with cracks and damage and 5 houses flooded after the construction of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway.
At the recent voter meeting, both villagers and village officials expressed their opinions and wished for early solutions to stabilize people's lives.
According to Mr. Mai Quy Khanh - Deputy Head of Project Management Department 4 of Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, during the construction of Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway, many houses of people near the project were affected during the roadbed compaction process. For affected households, the unit will request the insurance company to inspect, appraise and then have a support plan. Regarding the cases in An My village suspected of being affected due to the highway construction process, the unit has not received any feedback.
"We will review, if it is true that there is an impact due to the highway construction, there will be a solution" - Mr. Mai Quy Khanh informed.
It is known that the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway passing through Quang Tri province is 32.53km long, and the investor is currently urging construction units to keep up with the schedule.
