Ensuring adequate blood supply, medicine, medical supplies... to treat patients
At the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, on the morning of July 22, the Institute's medical examination and treatment and blood collection activities continued as usual. However, the hospital representative said that this morning, the number of people coming for medical examination and treatment and blood donation has decreased significantly compared to normal days.
"To respond to storm No. 3, the hospital has issued a notice, held a meeting to deploy tasks to units, organized tree pruning, and reinforced facilities. By the evening of July 21, all vehicles in the basement had been arranged to be moved to the first floor to prevent flooding caused by the storm" - information from the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion said.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, a representative of Bach Mai Hospital said: As soon as there was information about storm No. 3, the Hospital issued an official dispatch to thoroughly grasp and establish the Steering Committee for Storm Prevention No. 3.
The hospital director has requested to ensure absolute safety for patients by taking proactive measures such as promptly receiving and arranging patients to come to the emergency room, exam and treatment in a safe area. Absolutely do not refuse or delay any cases.
There is a safe transportation plan when taking patients to perform technical services (dignological diagnosis, functional examination...) or transferring them to a department or hospital.
At the same time, proactively propagate, guide, and manage to prevent patients from moving out of examination rooms and wardrobes when not necessary. All examination rooms and hospital rooms must ensure no reverse wind or running water. Digital gates must be closed and reinforced to ensure safety.
Proactively arrange and move locations of hospital beds that are at risk of being unsafe.
Bach Mai Hospital requires units to ensure the supply of blood, blood products, medicine, infusion, supplies, medical equipment, chemicals, etc. to serve patients, without interruption due to storms.

Urgently review and inspect facilities, pay attention to glass doors and clearance doors of rooms on high floors for safety measures.
Deploy measures to strengthen the fight against tornadoes, floods, and inundation at some locations in the hospital campus.

The hospital also requires departments to ensure human resource readiness to coordinate with the Supplies and Equipment Department and the Pharmacy Department to ensure adequate supplies, medicine, chemicals to prevent floods and storms, and search and rescue. Ensure 24/7 emergency duty, ready to receive and provide emergency care to victims affected by storms and floods.
