In the document responding to voters' petitions in preparation for the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the Da Nang Department of Health informed that Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center will be comprehensively upgraded. Not only renovating and repairing the existing infrastructure with a budget of 837 million VND in 2024, the city also spent more than 545.4 billion VND to upgrade and renovate this unit.
The project is invested by the Da Nang Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil, Industrial and Infrastructure Projects. Currently, the necessary procedures are being completed and construction is expected to start this June.
Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center was invested in and built more than 20 years ago on an area of 10,000m2, this facility has full specialties. However, in recent years, Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center has been seriously degraded, affecting the medical examination and treatment process of doctors and people.
The departments, the stairs to the hospital room all have mold, some walls are peeling and severely damaged. Some medical examination and treatment areas still have leaking water from the third floor to the second floor, causing the road to slide, the hospital has to place warning signs for people. During the rainy season, doctors and nurses have to use plastic buckets to collect water and cover the machinery and equipment with plastic bags. Toilets in many rooms cannot be used due to dehydration and damage, which is very inconvenient for patients.
In 2023, the People's Council of Da Nang City approved the project to upgrade and renovate Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center, after information reflected by the people and the press about the deterioration of this medical facility. The investment goal is to upgrade and renovate the degraded Ngu Hanh Son District Medical Center to ensure modern facilities, meet the increasingly high demand for medical examination and treatment and improve the quality of health care for people; at the same time, prepare facilities to proactively prevent epidemics in the area, ensure conditions to support Da Nang Hospital in treating a number of diseases appropriately and contribute to reducing the burden on upper-level hospitals.
