The Bat Xat District General Hospital project was approved at the end of 2021 with a total investment of 230 billion VND, using the central budget for the period 2021 - 2025 and the centralized budget for the same period.
The construction investment scale includes blocks of houses from 4 floors to 7 floors, administrative and management blocks and examination and treatment departments, with a total floor area of 13,000 m2.
According to Lao Dong in mid-July 2025, at the investment project to build the old Bat Xat District General Hospital (located in Quang Kim commune, now Bat Xat commune) after more than 2 years of construction, most of the items have been completed.
Currently, the project is completing items related to traffic and landscape in the area.
At the construction site, machinery and heavy equipment, workers are leveling the ground, making corridors between buildings.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (residing in Bat Xat commune, Lao Cai province) said: "Now there are no more districts, the hospital is transferred to the commune area, we still hope the project will be completed soon to put into use, avoiding waste. The completion of the project will ensure the medical examination and treatment needs of people in mountainous areas, especially ethnic minorities around the area".
According to the investigation, the Bat Xat District General Hospital Project is invested by the Lao Cai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, starting construction in 2023, with a construction scale including: 7-storey inpatient treatment area, professional technical and medical examination house, administrative building block and medical center, and other auxiliary items.
The construction packages are undertaken by the joint venture of Lao Cai Provincial Construction Joint Stock Company - Dysentery Exclusion Company Limited and the joint venture of ATK Construction One Member Co., Ltd. - Quang Sang Construction Investment Company Limited - Hoang Tuan Construction Company Limited.
The project progress report shows that the value of the volume of package 4 implementation is about 72%, package 5 is about 92%.
In particular, for package No. 4, the main items such as the technical and medical examination house, administrative house and medical center, the yard between the two houses have been basically completed.
According to the leader of the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, in the coming time, the board will continue to urge contractors to construct the remaining items, and at the same time install equipment to soon put the hospital into operation.
On July 19, speaking with Lao Dong - Mr. Hoang Quoc Huong - Director of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health said: "Currently, the district hospitals under construction will continue to be completed to serve the needs of medical examination and treatment for the people. In addition, because there is no longer a district level, these units will be converted into regional facilities such as the General Hospital in Bat Xat area, Bac Ha area...".
