The National Institute for Food Safety Testing has just issued an official dispatch responding to the test results of samples suspected of food poisoning that caused the death of Mr. L.V.C (Coc Chu village, Muong Khuong commune, Lao Cai province).
Accordingly, based on the content of the report of the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health on the results of the rescue of the poisoning case in Coc Chu village, Muong Khuong commune, the National Food Safety Testing Institute studied and tested 2 live and roasted model rhinoplasty (remaining after the family meal of Mr. L.V.C), the results detected Cantharidin in both models.
Through synthesis and analysis of the investigation results, it was shown that Mr. L.V.C's medical process and clinical developments were consistent with the epidemiological characteristics and the Canthridin toxin in the member of the million fruit worm he had eaten.
However, because he could not get samples while Mr. C. was in the hospital and did not conduct an autopsy as requested by the family, there was not enough basis to determine the exact cause of Mr. C.'s death, but only suspected that it was due to the natural toxin Canthridin in theprison fruit fly.
Previously, on July 9, Mr. L.V.C - a Nung ethnic group in Coc Chu village, Muong Khuong commune - had lunch with his wife, Mrs. Po Thi Nhon, with dishes: salted grated sugar plantain, stir-fried chicken, cucumber, rice, white rice wine. As for the roasted bamboo rat disease, only Mr. L.V.C eats it with about 20 fish.
According to Mrs. Po Thi Nhon, the family had never brought back pigs from the sea to eat. However, when he saw this plant suck up pumpkin biphilia, Mr. L.V.C thought it was worth eating, so he took it home to roast salt.
After eating, for more than 1 hour, Mr. L.V.C felt abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and difficulty breathing, chest pain.

At around 3:00 p.m. the same day, Mr. L.V.C was taken to Muong Khuong Regional General Hospital in a state of anaphylactic shock due to side effects of food.
Two days later, Mr. L.V.C was transferred to the Emergency Resuscitation and Stroke Center, Lao Cai General Hospital No. 2, but did not survive.
According to doctors, the real million- face insect is a hard-working insect that contains Cantharidin - a very toxic substance that destroys and kills proteins. Wherever this substance goes, it will damage the protein, while protein is a substance that makes up the human body.
The first manifestations of Cantharidin poisoning are related to the digestive tract such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea... Then there are manifestations such as urination, difficulty urinating, bloody urination...
Patients with Cantharidin poisoning need to be given timely emergency care, otherwise the risk of complications will be very serious. The mortality rate from this poison is also very high.
