Vinh Long improves health quality after merger
After the administrative merger, the Vinh Long health sector quickly completely improved the apparatus, improved the quality of medical examination and treatment and promoted the application of health care technology.
Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hang - Director of Vinh Long Department of Health - said that after the administrative merger, the provincial health sector is now large-scale with 435 medical facilities, including 1 specialized hospital, 46 basic hospitals and 388 commune and ward health stations, with a total of more than 13,000 health workers and employees.
Ms. Hang emphasized that the industry has quickly stabilized the organization, rearranged the apparatus appropriately, and focused on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.

In particular, priority is given to developing grassroots health care and preventive medicine - which directly provides primary health care for people, contributing to reducing upper-level burden and early detection of diseases.
At the same time, the health sector is promoting digital transformation with applications such as electronic personal health records, electronic medical records and SMS recall check-up schedules, helping people save time and reduce procedures. Many localities in the area have applied this system.
Not only focusing on specialized techniques, we aim for a health system close to the people, synchronous from the grassroots to the provincial level, so that people can receive convenient, effective and continuous health care - Ms. Hang affirmed.
No need to go far, medical examination is still convenient
After the merger, people were worried that medical examination and treatment would be affected. However, the health stations are still operating stably and conveniently as before, making people feel secure.
Mr. Mai Van Dan - a resident of An Ngai Trung commune - said that at first, he was afraid that when the commune merged, the health station would be moved far away, affecting medical examination.
According to him, the elderly like him really need convenience and closeness when accessing medical services, so the station's location and stable operation is something that makes many people feel secure.

"Not only are they satisfied because they do not have to go far, what makes people feel secure is that the medical team is unchanged, the quality of medical examination and treatment is maintained. When coming to see a doctor, the doctor was still a regular, examining carefully and giving clear instructions. No disruption" - Mr. Dan shared more.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dong - Head of An Ngai Trung Commune Health Station - said that after the merger, although the area is larger, the station will still maintain old examination points so that people can access healthcare conveniently as before.
"After the merger, we still maintain 2 examination points, ensuring that people are fully cared for. Basic health activities are still effective, with the goal of serving the people's satisfaction" - Mr. Dong said.
