HCMC - In the 11th week of 2025, the number of measles cases in the city tends to be stable compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks.

According to the latest statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), in week 11 (10-16.), the city recorded 270 measles cases, a stable trend compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks (290 cases).

The total number of measles cases accumulated from the beginning of 2025 to week 11 is 3,819 cases. The cumulative number of cases from the beginning of the epidemic season to week 11 is 7,862 cases. Districts with a high number of measles cases accumulated from the beginning of the epidemic season to week 11 include Thu Duc City, Binh Tan District and Binh Chanh District.

HCDC recommends that parents take their children to medical facilities to get 2 doses of measles vaccine to create immunity for children. The measles vaccination campaign in the city is still continuing to take place with the goal of protecting public health and preventing outbreaks.

On March 19, Ho Chi Minh City organized 6 vaccination points in 6 districts. Of which, there is 1 vaccination point at the health station and 5 vaccination points at the hospital.

According to the Department of Prevention and Control (Ministry of Health), since the beginning of 2025, there have been about 40,000 suspected measles cases recorded. The Southern region still has the highest incidence rate (57%), followed by the Central region (19.2%), the Northern region (15.1%) and the Central Highlands (8.7%).

The Ministry of Health stated that in the context of changing seasons and erratic weather changes, the risk of infectious disease outbreaks, especially measles, is always present. The measles epidemic is forecast to generally decrease, but it has not stopped, we need to be very careful.

On the basis of drastic and effective implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures such as zoning, epidemic suppression and vaccination... the measles epidemic situation is under control, and will be gradually controlled to limit the spread and outbreak.
