Visiting and expressing gratitude to outstanding professors in the medical industry
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, on the afternoon of February 23, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health visited and wished good health to Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Trong - former Deputy Minister of Health and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Nhan - former Director of the National Children's Hospital, former Chairman of the Vietnam Pediatric Association.
Sharing with the veteran professors, the Deputy Minister informed about some results and achievements of the health sector in recent times as well as the orientations and tasks of the sector in the coming time.

Talking to the Deputy Minister, the Professors highly appreciated the results achieved by the health sector in the past year, which have contributed to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people, while further affirming the prestige and brand of Vietnamese health.

Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach receives the Global Health Award
At the 16th Annual Conference held in Atlanta (USA) on February 20 - 23, 2025, Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach - lecturer at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was honored to receive the 2025 Global Health Innovation Leadership Award.

Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach was awarded the award for his important contributions to the field of health innovation, including research on health economy, health systems and digital health technologies to increase access to health care services for vulnerable groups. See more...
5 victims of the passenger bus accident on National Highway 6 recover
On the afternoon of February 23, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital informed about the health of 5 victims in the accident on a bus on National Highway 6 who were given emergency care and treated at the hospital.
Patient V.G.H (male, 9 years old, Son La) suffered a chest injury, emphysema, fracture of the limb, suspected damage to the pancreas and spleen.

Patient P.T.H (female, 52 years old, Ha Nam) suffered multiple injuries, traumatic brain injury, left leg fracture and right arm fracture.
Patient N.D.H (male, 45 years old, Son La) suffered multiple injuries, facial injuries, and open fractures in both limbs.
Patient L.T.N (female, 54 years old, Son La) suffered a fracture of the left arm, chest and right shoulder injuries.
Patient N.V.H (male 63 years old, Ha Nam) suffered injuries to the ear and core.
The victims have all undergone successful surgery and minor surgery and are continuing to be treated and closely monitored. See more...
Quang Ninh raises warning level for infectious diseases
The People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has just issued an Official Dispatch requesting close monitoring of the situation of infectious diseases and early detection of suspected cases.
At Bai Chay Hospital, in January 2025 alone, 226 cases of seasonal flu were recorded, more than 2 times higher than in December 2024. Among them, many young patients do not have underlying diseases but have severe complications from the flu.
The Quang Ninh Center for Disease Control (CDC) has also reported 50 cases of suspected measles rash fever, of which 32 cases tested positive for measles virus.

Ca Mau: A one-day-old boy dies after being vaccinated against syphilis
On the evening of February 23, Ca Mau Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital (Ca Mau) said that the Hospital had reported a case of a one-day-old newborn baby who died after being vaccinated with anthrax preventive treatment.
Because the mother tested positive for Syphilis, the baby was taken to the Neonatal Department at 10:00 p.m. on February 21 for monitoring. The child was given a spray shot with Benzathine benzylpenicillin as instructed by the Ministry of Health.
After the injection, the child showed signs of purple purple, chest tightness. Immediately, the child was treated with oxygen and adrenaline was injected with corn. However, the respiratory failure progressed severely, leading to shock. Despite being actively resuscitated and given an intubation, the child still did not survive and died at 8:30 a.m. on February 22.
The hospital diagnosed the cause of death as grade 4 anaphylactic shock, suspected to be the antibiotic Benzathine benzylpenicillin. Immediately after the incident, the Hospital coordinated with the ward police to notify and explain the patient's condition, care and treatment process for the family. The family agreed to take the child home and did not have any further opinions.
The incident is being further verified and clarified by the authorities.
