On September 27, according to information from the Department of Health of Ha Giang province, this unit has just reported information related to the suspected food poisoning case at the Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities in Xin Man district.
Test results showed that 3/12 food samples had physical, chemical and microbiological indicators exceeding the permissible limits.
Accordingly, the fried egg sample detected Enterobacteriaceae: 2.1×104. The Korean rice cake sample JIN TU detected total yeast and mold: 9.0 x 101; total aerobic microorganisms: 2.6 x 103; chemical sugar screening (Aspartame): 81.7%.
Lemon tea water sample detected Coliforms: 1.3 x 105; total yeast and mold: 3.7 x 106; total aerobic microorganisms: 2.4 x 105.
The lemon tea sample was directly sampled and sealed (not stored in the refrigerator), so the National Institute for Food Safety Control did not evaluate the results according to the standards.
Through comparing the test results, we found Enterobacteriaceae bacteria, total yeast and mold, total aerobic microorganisms, Coliforms, and chemical sugar (Aspartame) which can warn of health effects. Severe cases can cause toxic infections, acute diarrhea, and diseases in some organs such as the respiratory system, urinary system, and sepsis leading to death.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, on the evening of September 15, Xin Man District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities organized a Mid-Autumn Festival for 300 secondary school students.
It is known that the students' party menu includes lemon tea, kumquat, apple, pear, watermelon and pineapple, moon cake, candy, and milk.
Fifteen minutes after eating, many children had symptoms of headache and nausea and were taken to the hospital.
