Ms. Bich Van (62 years old) and Mr. Van Hung spent 30 happy years together and had two children.
Their love story began with difficulties, when Mrs. Van's family did not accept Mr. Hung because he was a driver. However, because of love, Mr. Hung gave up his job as a driver to work as a porter, from which Mrs. Van's family accepted the two to get married.
Despite many years together, Mr. Hung is still unreasonably jealous. In a conversation with People's Artist Hong Van, Mrs. Bich Van shared about her husband's most intense jealousy. Because of the nature of her job selling at the market, she often chats with many customers. The rumors reached Mr. Hung's ears, causing him to not investigate the matter and only believe what outsiders said. In a fit of anger, he loudly blamed, broke things, and slapped his wife.
Mr. Hung admitted: “That day, I happened to bring goods home for my wife to sell, and I heard this and that person talking about my wife. I didn’t find out what the story was, I just listened to what they said, and then I started to bully my wife. I got jealous, and I was so angry that I slapped my wife.” Mrs. Van felt hurt and decided to go back to her mother’s house. After thinking about his actions, Mr. Hung decided to apologize to his mother-in-law and his wife. Luckily, Mrs. Van forgave him, and the two got back to being as harmonious as before.
The story does not end there. One time, when his friends invited him out for a drink, Mr. Hung got drunk and lost all the goods worth about 50-60 million VND. When he woke up, Mr. Hung left and did not return home until evening. When he got home, he lied to his wife that he had borrowed money from relatives, but in fact he had borrowed money from gangsters. After a few months of not being able to pay the debt, gangsters came to Mrs. Van's store and destroyed it, making it impossible for her to continue trading. The total debt at this time was up to 200 million VND. In difficult circumstances, with her children still young, to solve the problem, she had to sell all her assets and go to work as a factory worker, while Mr. Hung drove a motorbike taxi to make a living.
When asked what she wanted to change about her husband, Ms. Bich Van said: “I wish he would be less hot-tempered and stop being jealous. Now, I am old. I live for my children, for the future of the couple so that we can enjoy our old age.” Mr. Hung also expressed his wishes to his wife: “I just pray that I have good health to take care of my wife and children. I hope my wife is healthy, happy and at ease in life, so that we can have a longer lasting happiness.”
People's Artist Hong Van advised the couple that, at this age, they need to control negative emotions such as anger and jealousy to protect their health, think positively and focus on enjoying life, maintaining a harmonious relationship.
