The "Military-Civilian Tet" program in Vinh Long province in 2026 takes place in two days, April 14-15, with many activities such as medical examinations, free medicine distribution; sports competitions, folk games; cultural and artistic performances; community banh tet wrapping and organizing a friendly meal with local people, according to VNA.
On the evening of April 14, Vinh Long province opened the "Military - People Tet" program on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thay Tet 2026 in Tra Con commune.
Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi said that the series of activities taking place right on the occasion of the traditional Tet of the Khmer people is of practical significance, towards their roots, contributing to educating patriotism and solidarity among the people. Through this, the close relationship between the army and the people continues to be consolidated, contributing to building the great national unity bloc.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, the activities also create a positive effect, unlock potential, and encourage people to strive to develop the family economy and participate in social activities for the community. This is also a "Skillful Mass Mobilization" model, contributing to building a "people's heart formation", creating a foundation for the task of building and protecting the Fatherland, while promoting the cultural beauty and socio-economic development achievements of the locality.
Provincial leaders requested the Party Committee, government, socio-political organizations and people of Tra Con commune to actively participate in activities, creating a joyful and excited atmosphere during Tet. At the same time, monks and Khmer people continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, improve material and spiritual life, contributing to building new rural areas.
Also on this occasion, levels, sectors, armed forces and philanthropists deployed many social security activities such as visiting and giving gifts to policy families and poor households; donating wheelchairs to people with disabilities; awarding scholarships to poor students; building and repairing rural transport projects.
At the opening ceremony of the "Tet Quan - Dan" program on the occasion of the traditional Tet holiday Chol Chnam Thmay 2026, the Organizing Committee awarded 20 scholarships, 20 bicycles to disadvantaged students; 30 Tet gifts to poor Khmer ethnic households. Functional units also supported the construction of 10 great solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households in the area.
