On April 14, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen and the working delegation visited and wished Tet to Chol Chnam Thmay at Cos Don Pagoda (Vinh Phuoc commune) and Di Quan and Kha Na Ron pagodas (Ninh Quoi commune).
At the places visited, the delegation acknowledged and praised the spirit of solidarity, labor production efforts and positive contributions of the Khmer ethnic people to the socio-economic development of the province. At the same time, it requested dignitaries and prestigious people to continue to mobilize Buddhists and people to well comply with the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; preserve national cultural identity, and consolidate the great national unity bloc.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 13, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi and the working delegation visited and wished Tet at the old Gia Rai Pagoda and the new Gia Rai Pagoda, Gia Rai ward.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent New Year greetings to monks, pagoda management boards, Dharma propagation boards and Khmer people; and acknowledged the role of religious establishments in propagating and mobilizing people to well implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State.
On this occasion, the working delegation presented congratulatory gifts to pagodas, gifts to the management board, Dharma propagation board, Khmer ethnic households in difficult circumstances and prestigious people in the area.
Ca Mau has more than 26,800 ethnic minority households with over 116,300 people, of which the majority are Khmer ethnic minorities. The poverty rate in ethnic minority areas is currently 2.05%, and near-poor households are 3.17%.
