According to Colonel Nguyen Van To - Deputy Political Commissar of Bac Lieu Provincial Military Command, every time Tet comes, Spring comes, the Military Command, Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee coordinates with localities to organize Tet Quan Dan activities. This is an annual cultural and social activity, with practical meaning and profound humanity, responding to the movement "The Army joins hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".
Through the Army-Civilian Tet activities, we contribute to building new rural areas, improving and doing well the mass mobilization work of the Party and the army, and implementing well social security policies and military rear policies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang assessed that 2025 is the 10th year the province has organized the Military-Civilian Tet and also the 2nd year the Military-Civilian Tet has been organized in Dong Hai district.
This is a cultural and social activity of practical significance to preserve the good values of the nation's traditional Tet holiday, contributing to the effective implementation of social security policies and military rear policies; demonstrating the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", the spirit of mutual love, a precious tradition of our nation for thousands of years. Thereby, creating a joyful and warm atmosphere of military-civilian affection during Tet holidays; continuing to encourage, motivate and further strengthen the relationship of solidarity and close ties between the military and the people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Over the past 10 years of implementing the Military-Civilian Tet, hundreds of projects and tasks have been implemented, with the participation of thousands of working days of officers, soldiers of the armed forces and people with a total amount of over 140 billion VND; associated with the organization of many practical and effective activities with profound humanistic meanings, thereby contributing to continuing to encourage, motivate and further strengthen the close-knit relationship between the military and the people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
This year's Military-Civilian Tet program takes place from January 15 to January 21, 2025. The provincial armed forces coordinate with departments, branches, businesses, benefactors and local Party committees and authorities to carry out 18 projects and tasks such as: Organizing propaganda for people about the Law on Military Service, the Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces, the Law on Reserve Mobilization; the movement of All People Protecting National Security, the emulation movement of All People Uniting to Build New Rural Areas; propaganda about ethnic and religious policies; Renovating, repairing and upgrading 9 rural traffic routes; Investing in installing 244 light bulbs to light up 6 rural roads; Buying and giving 1,492 health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances; Supporting the construction of over 40 houses for people in the district...
At the launching ceremony, the organizing committee presented 15 gifts to young people preparing to join the army; 20 gifts to prestigious people among ethnic minorities and security forces at the grassroots level; and presented symbolic boards to register for support for projects and tasks of agencies, units and enterprises.
