From October 13-16, a delegation of Long An province led by Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - visited, worked and promoted investment in Korea. The delegation also included leaders of departments, branches, localities, seaport enterprises, and industrial park infrastructure of Long An province. This activity is part of a series of investment promotion programs in 2024 of Long An province.
The trip aims to introduce the potential, development orientation and reaffirm Long An as an ideal destination for Korean enterprises. Long An province shows its determination to focus on connecting industrial parks with potential investors in many fields, especially high-tech agriculture, innovation, renewable energy, logistics, aiming at sustainable economic development in Long An.
On the first day in Korea - October 14, the delegation met with former President Lee Myung Bak in Seoul. The two sides exchanged information on investment activities of Korean organizations and enterprises in Long An in the past time, and shared the potential and opportunities for future cooperation, promoting investment in Long An province.
During the meeting, former President Lee Myung-bak emphasized the importance of adopting green and circular economic models. Both sides agreed that sustainable development and environmental protection are important factors in any future cooperation strategy.
Former President Lee Myung-bak also shared some experiences from Korea in developing green infrastructure, highly appreciated the dynamism of Long An province and encouraged Long An to study and apply these experiences into local practices.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Long An province - said that Korea is one of the important strategic partners, playing a major role in the economic development of the province. Long An always strives to create a favorable investment environment, accompanying foreign enterprises, especially Korean enterprises.
He expected that all levels and sectors of the province will continue to make efforts, take advantage of and effectively exploit opportunities from the trend of connecting global supply chains and green development, to maintain traditional markets and partners such as Korea; Proactively learn about investment trends of multinational corporations, large enterprises and groups in Korea to approach and connect investment in industries that the province has advantages; Call for investment in Long An and reap good results with Long An.
Currently, out of the total foreign investment value of more than 12.4 billion USD in Long An, Korea ranks 3rd and has become an important strategic partner of the province in investment promotion activities, receiving the province's attention and strengthening relations.
On behalf of the leaders of Long An province, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc invited Mr. Lee Myung Bak to attend the 2nd Long An Culture, Sports and Tourism Week and the Long An - Korea Exchange Program in 2024, taking place from November 28, 2024 to December 4, 2024, in Long An province as a guest of honor. This is an important event, not only promoting the image and culture of Long An province, but also promoting the close and deep connection of the cooperative relationship between Long An and Korea.
According to the working schedule, in the following days, the Long An delegation will participate in working sessions and survey projects of large corporations in Korea in the fields of urban infrastructure development, trade, services, energy and logistics.
