At the working session, Colonel Pham Van Thang, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Commander of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, reported to the working delegation on the political security situation, social order and safety in the Vietnam - Cambodia border area; the situation in the sea and island areas and the results of implementing the task of managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security in the past time.
An Giang Provincial Border Guard has synchronously implemented many measures to propagate, manage, inspect, control and handle IUU violations, contributing to the whole country removing the "yellow card" of the European Commission for Vietnam's seafood industry.
In addition, many projects and projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference are currently being implemented in the area, attracting a large number of workers, vehicles, ships transporting raw materials, passengers and tourists entering and leaving the sea and island areas, putting great pressure on local management, ensuring security and order. Especially in key tourist areas such as Hon Son, Nam Du, Ha Tien and Phu Quoc, the number of tourists has increased sharply. Some small islands welcome 1,000 to 2,000 visitors per day, especially Phu Quoc at times up to about 10,000 visitors/day, posing many complex factors regarding security and order on the sea and islands.
Faced with that situation, the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command has proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee to issue many documents directing departments, agencies, and branches to coordinate in performing the task of managing and protecting sovereignty and security of sea and island borders; fighting against illegal entry and exit and handling incidents arising in border areas. At the same time, directing agencies and units to strictly manage borders, border gates, sea and island areas; resolutely not to let hotspots of security and order form.

Concluding the working session, Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien acknowledged and praised the outstanding results achieved by the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command in the past time. Especially in the work of managing and protecting sovereignty and security of sea and island borders, fighting and preventing crime, and building comprehensively strong units.

At the same time, strengthen forecasting and closely monitoring the activities of all kinds of crimes on the land border and at sea, especially high-tech crimes, transnational crimes; promptly detect and identify the impact factors of non-traditional security to proactively advise and effectively handle arising situations, not to be passive or surprised in any situation.
Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien also requested units to strengthen close coordination with the Navy, Coast Guard, Police and related forces in exchanging information, managing the area, protecting sovereignty, maintaining political security, social order and safety in border, sea and island areas. In addition, it is necessary to regularly review, adjust, and supplement plans and schemes for border management and protection; improve the quality of patrols and inspections, combat readiness and effective handling of situations at sea and on the border.
Regarding the task of ensuring security and safety to serve key projects and APEC 2027 Conference, the Commander noted that Phu Quoc area is currently implementing many large national-scale projects, including an infrastructure system connecting to Hon Thom to serve APEC in 2027. Therefore, the unit needs to proactively develop plans and plans to strictly manage the area; strengthen patrols and control of people and vehicles operating at sea and islands; closely coordinate with functional forces to ensure absolute security and safety for projects, seaports and working delegations and leaders coming to work in the locality.
