In the past time, the An Giang Provincial Border Guard has effectively fought many special cases, notably dismantling illegal gold and foreign currency transportation lines across borders, seizing more than 12kg of gold and many large-scale smuggling and drug cases. In particular, the arrest of a subject illegally transporting more than 7.2 billion VND through the Long Binh border area on November 22, 2025, clearly showed bravery, ingenuity and uncompromising spirit towards criminals.

According to reports, at about 8:30 am on November 22, 2025, while patrolling and controlling in the Thanh Phu hamlet area, Khanh Binh commune, the Task Force of Long Binh International Border Gate Border Guard Station in coordination with the Special Task Force for Drug and Crime Prevention, An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command and the Southern Special Task Force for Drug and Crime Prevention discovered Nguyen Van Chau (born 2000, residing in Nhon Hoi commune, An Giang province) showing suspicious signs.
At the time of inspection, Chau carried a cardboard box on his shoulder, sealed with tape, moving from the rural road to the Hau River bank area, about 30m from the riverbank. Through inspection, functional forces discovered inside 3 black packages containing a large amount of Vietnamese Dong including many banknotes of different denominations.
Working with functional forces, Nguyen Van Chau confessed that he was hired by a Cambodian man named Sen to use a speedboat to go to the mango garden area in Thanh Phu hamlet to receive money from a woman named Ut Huyen, then transport it to Cambodia to deliver it at the rice warehouse area to receive wages.
However, when the subject was on his way to bring the money down to the riverbank to transport across the border, he was discovered and caught red-handed by the Border Guard force. Immediately after that, functional forces made a record of arresting the person who committed the crime red-handed against Nguyen Van Chau for the act of "Illegally transporting currency across the border", and at the same time completed the file for handling according to legal regulations.

Recognizing particularly outstanding achievements in the fight against illegal transportation of money across borders, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety, the President decided to award the Third-class Military Exploit Medal to the collective of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command; 2 individuals including Colonel Pham Van Thang, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Commander of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command; Lieutenant Colonel Tran Viet Duc, Commander of Long Binh International Border Gate Border Guard Station.
